this has been bothering me for months! any help?
when i first got my computer, i was very inexperienced. i had aol, dial up at the time, on one account and in order to get track names when i inserted CDs to import to itunes, i had to be on that account to access the internet. {I hadn't figured out how to move programs from one user to another.} i found it necessary to create another account on the computer, which is now my primary one. the only problem is, i have built up my entire itunes library of 800 songs on this old user account. i know i can import and export my library and songs but this does nothing because this doesnt transfer the actual songs, just playlist names, etc. does anyone know a way to actually transfer all of my songs from one account to another??

Are these songs in a format with DRM, such as songs from iTunes Music Store, or are they songs that you ripped from CDs that you own, and thus freely copyable?

You could try this:
1. Log in to account with your songs. 2. Copy your iTunes Library folder 3. Drag the copy into /Users/Shared/ 4. Log in to account without songs. 5. Drag the iTunes Library from Shared folder into your Music folder. 6. Run "Repair Permissions" in Disk Utility. 7. Fire up iTunes and see what happens. |
