QuickTime 6 Public Preview

Get it before the server clogs up. Note there is also a standalone installer available.

Also, if you want to buy an eMac, you can do that now too.

No 10.1.5 yet, though.

Follow-up: installation (using the standalone) was easy and fun; no problems other than the required restart.

The 'Instant-on' feature for MP4 streaming is well worth it.

Note that this preview version expires in October.

Hmm, QT6 Preview expires in October ... QT6 included with Jaguar ... wonder when Jaguar ships? ;-)

The eMac news is cool, too. I know a few people that really wanted one when they were just for education; we'll see how real their needs were now that they can buy it :-).

There's also a QuickTime 5 reinstaller in case you need to revert.

It appears the licensing fight about MPEG-4 is finally coming to some conclusion.
