OS X.3/Linksys BEFW11S4 - No internet

I've looked through the forum and wasn't able to find anything related to a WIRED setup. Here's my network:

Win2K3 server, WinXP SP2, G4 - AGP with OS X.3, Mandrake Linux 9 all linked with a Linksys BEFW11S4 (firmware 1.45, version 2).

Problem: I can see all the machines on my network and can share files, but I can't get to the Internet. I'm able to ping all the machines and the router, but nothing gets out to the Internet from the G4 (I can get to the Internet from the other 3 machines). The G4 has a static IP with all my DNS entries manually entered and it's connected by ethernet. I was able to connect to the Internet when I had OS 9.1 but when I installed a fresh verson of 10.3 I can no longer get out.

I don't think it's the router since I was able to get to it with 9.1, but I've never used 10.3 before and don't know if there's something I need to check. I check all my settings in the Linksys and they all seem fine. Does anyone have any advice?

Have you gone to the "Sharing" Preference Pane Services Tab, established the services you expect the G4 to establish, then under the Firewall Tab enabled those ports? Sounds like the router works, so it's the G4 Firewall perhaps.

I thought that might have been it, but it still didn't help. Thanks, though. Any other ideas?

Think I'm having the same problem

I just bought a dual G5 1.8ghz, which does not use the airport card from my G4, at least according to the salesman. The airport card had no problem locating the Linksys router, but I didn't want to cough up any more money for a high end wireless card that wouldn't go any faster, while my new studio was directly below the office in my house. I ran the cable up (which works fine), and the computer is asking for all sorts of information, while not connecting. I use Optimum Online, one of the biggest cable providers, and can connect from the other computers, PC and airport.

I will watch this thread with interest, and hopefully solve my own issues and try to pass it on. Not everyone uses wireless, so hang in there.

1) If you haven't already, update the firmware on your Linksys. This could be the whole problem

2) In your Network preferences pane, go to the Network Configuration window, drag your Ethernet connection to the top of the list and turn off any unused ports.
