Bookmarks in Firefox

Where does firefox stores its bookmark file. Iwanted to sychronize my safari bookmarks with Firefox using bookit but couldn't find the file.

Well, it is not in my machine as mentioned at this site.
MacOS X
~/Library/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/<Profile name>/

MacOS X, alternate
~/Library/Application Support/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/<Profile name>/

Look at
~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/default.66d/bookmarks.html
(the portion after the dot in "default.66d" may vary, if I recall that correctly)

Hiya
I have got anything as such. Here is the list from my machine
sauraya:~/Library/Application Support/Firefox ssaurya$ ls
pluginreg.dat profiles.ini
I have got only these 2 files in there

Well, you should have also have a Folder called "Profiles"; maybe you moved it somewhere else ? (just go to the Finder, press Apple-F and search for "Items whose name contains" Profiles (or bookmarks.html, while you are there).
If you just need a file containing your bookmarks:
Go to Firefox -> Bookmarks -> Manage Bookmarks
A new window should pop up containing your bookmarks. Now you can go
File -> Export and save the bookmarks as you please.
