Question Military time in clock

I can't get rid of 24 hour time from within the date and time preferences. When I click on 23 to type 11 it changes pm to am. I am sure it is simple but it has eluded me. Thank you.

How do I get 24 hour time in the menu bar?

I actually would like to get a 24 hour clock in the menu bar -- but I can't seem to do it. I switch it in the international menu, but it's still am/pm in the menu bar clock.

Is there a way to do this?

Tom--

Are you saying that when you click the 24 hour time button, the time format doesn't change? I just tested it, and the region drop down turned to Custom and the time format changes immediately.

One thing to try -- change it to 12 hour, quit System Preferences, then reopen and change it to 24 hour. That's helped in the past with other Preference weirdnesses.

Good luck!

What I mean is that I can change the format to 24 hour time -- but it doesn't change in the menu bar clock. e.g. it stays 6pm -- instead of 18:00

It's not a big deal, but since somebody else had posted a thread on this, I figured I would see if anybody knows if there is a way to get a 24 hour menu bar clock.

Thanks,

Hmm. That is weird. Have you tried zapping your PRAM? Someone in Apple's discussions area said it worked for them....

Sorry I couldn't be more help!

I've seen the the menubar fail to change to reflect the current settings at times. I have no idea what causes it.

Toggling the settings to the previous settings and then back to the new settings has always worked for me (so far).

Same as heath

I have seen the same behaviour, too. Just toggle between the two settings and it will change.
