Change audiobook speed without using the Settings menu

I've been using my 4G iPod for about two weeks now, mostly listening to audiobooks. I really appreciate the new feature that lets the audiobook speed be adjusted 25% slower or faster than normal. I find that most of my books sound just fine at the 25% faster speed, but not all. So in those instances I had been going to the Settings menu to select the playback speed.

However, I just discovered today by accident that it's not necessary to go to the settings menu. While the audiobook is playing, clicking the center select button cycles the display mode. On 3G and earlier iPods, it cycled through play mode, scrub mode, and rating mode. Now in the 4G iPods there is a fourth mode that lets you select faster, normal, or slower while the song is playing without going to the Settings menu. This is a very handy feature that I'm sure is documented, but I only recently discovered.
