deleting address bar history in Safari

How can I delete the address bar history?
I tried everything... reseting safari, clearing the history and the cache.
I even delete the preferences and cache of safari in library.

any help?

Safari comes with a lot of 'bookmarks' that you'll find by clicking on the little open book in the bookmarks bar. You're probably running into one of these bookmarks when it autofills in the address bar.

If you want to get rid of them, you'll have to delete all these bookmarks.

This won't help your situation, but your question reminded me that the Safari in Tiger will have a privacy mode. When this is turned on, nothing is cached or remembered. It allows you to go to *certain* sites without leaving any trace that you went.

Sites like... *microsoft.com*.. Or something.
