Exclamation Deleting locked file help

i downloaded a demo for prosoft data recycler. My tile was up so i used the uninstaller. By accident i copied one of the locked file to my desktop and can not delete it. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?! the locked folder is drivind me crazy.

Hold down Option when emptying the trash. This will delete most locked files as well.

Otherwise, do a Get Info on the file in question. If there's a checkbox that says Locked, uncheck it. Delete away.

Finally, if none of that works, please do an "ls -lad" on the file in question.

nope

i can not get the item in the trash. i can not uncheck the box that says locked. i have read and write permision on the folder. and describe the last thing you said to do.

Open up Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal and type:

Code:
cd ~/Desktop
ls -lao the_locked_file

Sorry typo in my original post. It should be "ls -lao" to show the immutable flag (should it be set). I fixed B-Zero's post (thanks to him for reminding me).
