Question D-Link DHP-100 Ethernet-to-Powerline Bridge

Has anyone had experience with the D-Link DHP-100 Ethernet-to-Powerline Bridge? I'd currently using ethernet cable and a D-Link DI-604 Broadband router to share a broadband connection between a Mac G4 (running 10.3.4) and a Dell notebook (running XP Pro), but I'm relocating to a house where it would be awkward to string the cable, and from what I've read it appears that wireless connections between floors in a house are hit-and-miss.

I've had success with wireless connection between floors. I think there is hope for it to work.

I haven't used DLink powerline but a client is using another brand.

It's sharing a broadband connection with two other rooms, including one in an outbuilding.

Thanks for the information. It looks to me like the main difference between the two units is the ability to activate the encryption by throwing a switch (rather than through a computer), but I don't think I need encryption at all, since the network is all in one self-contained residence.
