Modem works in 9 but not X.1

Although my modem functions perfectly normal in MacOS 9, it is unable to recieve data in X. It will "connect," but PPP only shows outgoing data. Weird.

do you know what modem connect script you are using in X? I have seen a few cases where if you select "Apple Internal xxx" it won't work, but selecting "GV xxx" it will, especially on older machines.
