Messages Between Computers
Hi,
I've just recently set up an ethernet network between my iMac and my sisters Windows PC. Having searched extensively on the internet I still can't find a way to send messages to her desktop, e.g. Get off your computer etc. I want the message to go straight to her desktop so she can read it without having to open any programs, is there anyway of doing this?

I've followed the instructions but I can't seem to make a connection. Is there something I need to turn on for the Windows XP PC?

On her PC, it will require admin access too.

Do a Google search on Windows messaging. At least one of the resulting pages will have the info you need.

This tip is for Windows only, it cannot be used to send messages to an OS X box. What kind of messages are these that you are getting?

that's alright...I'm just surprised this thread has received this much attention seeing as how it switched into an XP q&a rather quick. To turn off messaging you can right click on "My Computer" and select "Manage". In the next window that pops up you can click on the Services icon. The right hand field will be filled with all the services running on the evil, evil PC. Find the one named Messenger and double-click on it. Change the Startup setting to "Disabled"...stop the serivce, then it's diabled. If you need more specific instructions I'd suggest doing a search on a Windows site, or even MSoft's.
