Drivers work in OSX but not Classic? (intellimouse)

Okay, so I was all excited that M$FT released drivers for my intellimouse for OSX, because working without the scrollwheel and back/forward buttons sucked. But once I installed the new driver (and it worked), I found I'd swapped one set of problems for another. Now the scrollwheel and the back/forward buttons don't work when I'm in a *Classic* application.

Anyone have any ideas?

They just released another update today, it was supposed to fix the classic problem. I saw it on versiontracker.

No such luck - I downloaded the new driver and installed it, and not a thing has changed. Still have a big red X over the mouse in classic, no scrolling capabilities in any classic-running software.

Anyone else have any thoughts?
