10.2 Password Server and MailServer

So we've been running 10.2 server for a while, and I finally got time to set up the mail server when I found that no one could connect because 10.2 server kept rejecting our passwords. I found that I had failed to set up the Password Server, which I then did. The problem I've been having is that all the new accounts I've created can get mail just fine, its the old accounts that are still rejecting the passwords. I've gone in and changed the password set-up under 'Advanced' and put in my password, but I still can't get it accept the password? Any ideas? I'm not in a situation where I can delete the old accounts and remake them.
