New iMac at old price
I missed the news of Apple raising the price of the new iMac by $100
from Tokyo MacWorld on Wednesday. On Thursday (yesterday) there was an email in my inbox from Mac Zone advertizing the new superdrive iMac for $1794 - the old price. I called up Mac Zone and ordered one at that price. At first they were not sure if they could honor the old price or not, in the light of Apple announcement. Later I got a second email from them saying that the transaction was approved! So in about 3-4 weeks I should get my new iMac delivered. Mac Zone is throwing in extra 256K of RAM, so I will have a total of 512K. Has anyone had an experience of upgrading the new iMac to 1GB of RAM? Thanks. --sjoshi |

No, 512 here as well. I hope realize that an AASP must install the 512 in the machine slot, or else you void your warranty. it's supposedly more complicated than the normal installation. The RAM for the user slot was a snap (no pun intended) to install.
