.local.tim local.nibak network.nibak
.network.tim local.nidb network.nidb

anybody know what a .tim is?

My best guess is time maybe an offset from meridian.

found out it is a file generated when Windows user authentication is enabled in OS X Server and a .tim is generated for each root/local domains, only accessible by root.

Authentication Manager is enabled, a tim_passwd property is stored in NetInfo user/
Manager records. It can be decrypted to get the cleartext password using the encryption
key, which is stored in a file on the server that is readable only by root.
