why not use a security camera for iMac?
Many nice PTZ security cameras (even IP web security & some reasonable prices) are compatible with IBM PC.
But, it is hard to find ones that compatible with an iMac computer. A very few cheap models (even lousy ones) are compatible with iMac computer. On the internet, where is the information on what adapter that connect to your iMac if there is a PTZ wired or wireless security camera as long as it is a reasonable price like 100 or maybe 150. |

From what I see, the camera itself is not the issue - it's the control software.
PTZ control software is still pretty rare on the Mac. Here's some that looks pretty good, and supports a wide range of cams. Perhaps it supports the PTZ cameras that you prefer. http://www.bensoftware.com/securityspy/ There's quite a bit of info about using USB cams, compared to network cams, and a long list of compatible (or not compatible) hardware. |
