Rename .NBI after creation?
Does anyone know if its possible to change the actual .nbi file name and also the name that is presented at the boot picker during option boot on newer intel systems that support multiple netboots?
Is it as simple as editing the NBimageinfo.plist, because I tired this but it didn't seem to have any affect. Suggestions?

Does the finder not allow you to change the name of that file?
Click on the file (once) to select it, then press enter or return. The file name should highlight, and you can edit it by typing. |

Yes, obviously I can do that, as I would with any file, however, the server admin and what is displayed at option boot picker do not reflect that rename. Hence my question.

Is this perhaps a question better off in the OS X Server section of the forums?

Inside the the .nbi folder you can change various elements in the NBImageInfo.plist.
It should work ! You need to move the nbi out of Netboot store folder then re-add for changes to take effect. <key>Name</key> <string>Netinstall ML 10.8.2</string> and <key>Description</key> <string>NetInstall of OS X 10.8.2 (12C54) Install</string> Last edited by agentx; 01-08-2013 at 06:11 AM. |
