iMic

Hi,

I own a Griffin iMic, but I haven't been able to put it to use recording anything yet on my iBook 600 w/ 10.1.3. Some programs recognize it, but can't initialize it, some don't even see that it's plugged in.

Can you name any software it is usable with? (Freeware would be mostly interesting.)

-Mi.

I can't help you about the iMic but wanted to know how it's going.

I also have a new iBook and am researching how to integrate my
Roland keyboard into computer. I have considered the iMic.

At present I don't have the software but am looking at Cubase (because I have access to it)

thanks.........

iMic

I've recently bought an iMic to record all my vinyl to MP3 (aah progress!) but unfortunately when I record, the tracks tend to have the odd second here or there missing, which is slightly annoying to say the least.

I am running 10.1.5 or a G4 466, using Peak DV 3.0 to record. Anyone had any similar problems? Would upgrading to Jaguar sort this?

to vinyl-killer:

Since the imic has a digital interface I think it's susceptible to errors as the computer gets busy. My suggestion would be to get a better 'table and enjoy your tunes the way god had intended. I've had a problem recording audio too; the freeware apps can't see the imic and imovie gets unstable when I record.

Vinyl killing

I don't think it's to do with the processor - there's plenty of oomph left when I'm recording.

I know what you mean about the way god intended, but a turntable just isn't as portable as an MP3 player!

Griffin's website mentions some problems with some Macs that can be resolved by connecting your iMic through a powered USB hub. One of theirs presumably...
