Question Mounting SCSI volumes without restarting

Does anyone know how to mount an external SCSI volume under OSX 10.2.8 when you are already up and running?
When I am working on my Mac and suddenly decide that I need to get something off one of my external HD's that are connected via SCSI, switching on (powering up) these connected HD's will NOT mount them.
Only after a restart am I able to see and use them.
Any way of seeing them without a restart?

I don't have any scsi disks on my system, but have you tried mounting it from Disk Utility? (Apps>Utilities. Mount is under Options menu)

Disk Utility is of no use. It only "sees" volumes / disks
that have already mounted. So it does no see any unmounted disks and therefor cannot mount or unmount them either. Hope someone else knows it...

I don't think there are any OS X SCSI utilities out there. You might want to take a look at this thread:

I don't know if it would work from Classic, but Mt. Everything did what you are asking for in OS 7-9. I always decide *just* how badly I want to do something if it requires using Classic, but if it works, it would take less time to start Classic, use it, and stop Classic than to restart.

From the product page:

"To use Mt. Everything you'll need

A Macintosh or compatible computer with a 68020 CPU or better running System 7.0 up to (and including) System 9.x

A Macintosh equipped with at least one SCSI bus, either on board or supplied by an expansion-card
Mt. Everything, like any traditional Control Panel, will not run on Mac OS X. It may work with limited features under Mac OS X's classic environment."

Again, I like to have a solution under OS X....
Under 9 I knew very well what to do...
In the not too distant future Apple will be all X as we all know....
