hi,
i have a room full of emacs and when i was setting them up i wasent forward thinking and i set them all up with the same, name instead of say emac1, emac2 etc. now i need to set up file sharing but i cant do that because when you look on the network you just see the one name. my question is how do i change the computer names? |

You should be able to change the names in the System Preferences, Sharing Pane -> Computer Name. Make sure you change the HD names as well, since people who mount multiple drives might be confused which drive is for which machine.

make sure that file sharing is 'off', you may not be able to make the needed name changes while file sharing is still on.

While you can change it with it on, the changes will show up faster if you shut Personal File Sharing off, change it, then turn Personal File Sharing on.
