3rd gen iPod won't turn on... any ideas?
Hi All
I have a 3rd gen white iPod 20GB that simply won't turn on. It was last used 2 years ago and since then has been safely tucked in a drawer, in its own padded case and hasn't been mis-treated or dropped etc. I've used my iPhone for a few years now and wanted to loan this iPod to a friend who is coming on holidays with us this year. However, despite placing the iPod in a powered dock for 24 hours, and previously connecting it to my MacbookPro for almost as long, it simply doesn't turn on or power up at all. Is it worth trying to obtain a replacement battery from eBay, or should I just bin it??

Thanks for this... however, I have discovered something I wasn't aware of.
I found an old Apple Firewire charger, and remembered I had a firewire cable for the iPod. Plugged it in and hey presto... the iPod came to life and is charging. I wonder why it wouldn't charge by USB though... any takers?
