Hello,
today I got my Canon Pixma iP90v portable printer. After installing Canon's CUPS driver for OS X Lion 10.7.4, Privoxy suddenly stopped working. Firefox just says that the proxy is refusing ANY connection. I've done a bit of troubleshooting by going to http://p.p/ : no answer from proxy (127.0.0.1:8118). My question is: is the CUPS driver using port 8118/TCP to communicate? How do I turn on Privoxy's logging to see what the logs say ? Thanks in advance, Tyrexionibus |

The Canon Printer doesn't connect via Ethernet. It uses USB, right? So it's not going to use any network port to communicate.
There are two possibilities: the installer of the Canon driver has over-written some file or folder that Privoxy uses. So you might want to try reinstalling Privoxy. Alternatively, it may be mere coincidence that Privoxy stopped working after you installed the Canon drivers, and some other problem is the cause, like the wrong configuration. I haven't used Privoxy, so don't know much about it. Perhaps ask on their support forum or user mailing list? |

It seems a reboot solved the issue, but I don't know if the CUPS driver will work now. I haven't done anything except rebooting my MBP. I will test the printer soon. Thanks for your support! |
