@ won't work wit spanish keyboard

I have a friend with a new MacBook Pro, he is spanish and changed the Mac os over to the spanish language. Now the @ will not fiunction in the normal sense after pressing the shift key and the 2(@) key. The @ works fine when you switch back to english. Is there another way to use the @ with the spanish language OS??

Change the keyboard layout to "Spanish ISO". That will leave you with very few differences with the US keyboard, as printed on the keys, and (I think) leaves the @ in the same position (Shift-2)
If there are other differences, then you would open the Language & Text pref pane, then the Input Sources tab - and check the box "Keyboard & Character Viewer)
That will give you a flag menu, where you select the Keyboard Viewer.
Then you will have an on-screen keyboard, where you can press each key, and tell where all characters and symbols are - just press shift, or option/alt, or command, etc, and the on-screen keyboard will change to show what each key does.
