Multiple Login Items Instances
Here is my current Login Items list:
Microsoft Database Daemon Keyboard Maestro Desktop Calendar iTunesHelper DefaultFolder X WindowShade X Extensis Suitcase Fruitmenu Daemon Extensis Suitcase FruitMenu Daemon Xounds WindowShade X ClassicSpy.menu Extensis Suitcase You'll note that both WindowShade X and FruitMenu Daemon are listed twice and Extensis Suitcase is listed three times! I didn't do that--they seem to be doing it all by themselves. Nothing seems to be going wrong--my system seems stable enough--but this seems peculiar. Is anybody else experiencing this? Andy |

Some of the do have generic icons, and when I remove them they come back! Suitcase is the main culprit. Here's the weird part: when I remove all but one Suitcase login item, Suitcase quits on login with an error. I then have to start it up manually. Then it works fine. Then, after a while, multiple login instances appear. Weird, huh?
As for the others, does having them in /Library/PreferencePanes make a difference? I want these system enhancements available for all the users of this machine. Andy |
