How to export QT movies to PC users

I would like to know which format I would use to export a .mov to my friends operating PCs. I am running an iMac DV-SE using Mac OS 9.2.2. I have Quicktime Pro.

I dont' have QuickTime Pro but I've been experimenting by saving movies in QuickTime Broadcaster and sending them to various windows users. Here's what I found out:

1) Tell them to install QuickTime for Windows on their comuters. It's free from Apple. Then just send them movies.

2) This is a trick question. Format is only half of the problem, the other half is codecs or compression format.

3) AVI format will probably work. If you have a choice of compression formats, Sorenson or Cinepack would be good choices for video, Qualcomm for audio.
