Problem with Samba timing out

Hello,

Googling this specific issue proved to be surprisingly hard

I'm trying to share files between my Macbook and my Windows PC via SMB. I followed the instructions on the Apple website and at first everything worked fine.
However, after a while (usually after sleep mode) my files stop appearing in the finder. It just sits there trying to connect. No errors or whatsoever; it just times out. Reconnecting doesn't do anything either. I can still ping my windows machine though. And my windows machine can still access my macbook.
Rebooting my macbook fixes it (for a while) but that is obviously not ideal.

Anyone got any suggestions? Because I'm really stumped

Thanks in advance!
