Mac with Windows and a virtual OS X machine on top of that?
Am about to buy a new Macbook Pro and for some reasons (hardware access) I am gonna install Windows as the main system but I also want to run OS X on it. Is it possible to virtualize OS X on top of Windows?
(and for all whiners: this is running OS X on Apple hardware)

Regardless of the hardware, the OS X license doesn't allow virtualizing, unless it's OS X Server. And even then it has to be on Mac hardware.
What you can do is dual boot. Or, virtualize Windows under OS X. |

What are the "Hardware access" reasons? Why can't you boot OS X and run Windows virtually? Buying an OS X Server licence is expensive.
The method in your link is only a partial success -- from the posts, lots of people had trouble with it. Last edited by benwiggy; 11-12-2010 at 01:55 PM. |
