Synchronizing subtitles on VLC player.

Iīm trying to watch a movie with subtitles that are out of sync (they come about 9 seconds too late). I use VLC player and tried to synchronize the subtitles with both Subfix and Sear, both programs said the .srt file was corrupted and couldnīt be opened. But how can it be corrupted if I see the subtitles when I watch the movie? Can anyone help me to synchronize them? Iīm just getting used to my Mac and having a hard time with simple things like this. Thanks!

You can adjust the subtitle sync with VLC. You don't need other software unless the sync is way, way off or changes over time. Just use the 'h' and 'j' keys to move the subtitle sync forward and backward (I think it's 50 milliseconds per key press).

.srt files are just text files. Can you open yours with a text editor? You should just see the sync timing and the text of the subtitles.
