Editor, Compile, Run Python
I'm about to embark on learning Python and wonder if, for Python, there's something equivalent to the AppleScript Script Editor, something that will let me do all three phases without switching apps.

Thanks, Hayne; have you any recommendations among those on offer there?

I'm not currently using any of these. For Python, I've been using 'vi' or TextWrangler together with a Terminal window.
I just started to use Komodo for Perl scripts - the auto-detection of syntax errors is sure nice.

I like to use BBEdit, but its freeware little brother TextWrangler will handle this job just fine. Both are available from Bare Bones Software.

I own a license to BBEdit (have for years), but didn't see how it could run a Python script from within. Perhaps it's time for me to RTFM. BBEdit has evolved and though I keep using it, I haven't kept up with the changes.
P.S. Just discovered that my BBEdit installation (version 9) was screwed up. After trashing it all and reloading, the Python plugin is working very nicely. Thanks.
