Clicking links in Mail.app doesn't load them in Firefox 3.5b4

I realize it's a beta--and therefore unfinished--program, but I'm giving Firefox 3.5b4 a spin. It's super fast and I think I'd like to replace the older version of Firefox with it.

However, right now when I click on links in Mail.app messages, they don't load in Firefox. The application is activated and it does come forward but then nothing happens. No new tab, no new page, and the URL doesn't loaded.

Has anyone else encountered this? Or do you have suggestions about how resolve it?

Do you have Firefox 3.5b4 set as your default web browser in Safari > Preferences > General > "Default web browser:"?

Beta: it's possible that they haven't finished (or have temporarily disabled) apple event handling. when you click on a link in Mail, it bundles the URI into an apple event and sends it (along with an 'open' command) to your default browser. however, since apple events are a convenience rather than a requirement, and only apply to Macs, the devs often put them off to last as non-critical. it'll get fixed sooner or later.

I have the same issue with the Apple Mail program on my MBpro not opening the link in Firefox though it does launch it, and Firefox exhibits its homepage (set to Google). But that's it. It doesn't pass the URL and activate it? When do you think this IMHO very important service will be implemented? To me, its a priority and time saver and could force me back to Safari.

Still happening for me

Mail.App on Leopard paired with Firefox 3.5. Everytime I click on a link in Mail.app, it brings up Firefox but firefox does not open up the link.
