Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me, i've been searching the net and haven't been able to find the solution to a problem i am having. Any idea's please let me know, here's a quick break down of my situation. I have bought a new mac mini, purely to be a media server on the TV in my living room. It is currently set up to run plex and stream movies off of my computer in another room. I have a script that auto mounts the "Video" share off my main computer and monitors the state of that mount. As soon as it drops, it re-mounts. Its set to check every 10 seconds that the mount is there. This is necessary because i live in Dubai and the internet lines here are very unreliable lately. Internet connectivity is lost every day and is only repairable by a quick reboot on the router. This reboot is why i need the auto remount, and it does so perfectly. This leaves me with 1 last problem... When the connection drops, OS X makes a point of popping up a window telling me the connection is lost. Even though the volume has already been remounted 10 seconds later, the "connection lost" window is still open (i am not talking about the 'interrupted' window, because that disappears when the link is re-established. This "connection lost" window required a click to close it). Worst of all, it is on top of plex. It is basically in front of the movie being watched. In theory, i presume it should be possible (with either the same script, or another) to monitor when this 'connection lost' window opens, then close it automatically. I'm hoping so at least. Other than this minor glitch, i am so very impressed with the whole experience so far. The main aim is to store the bluetooth keyboard in the drawer and allow inexperienced users to navigate using only the apple remote, not facing any problems that require a keyboard to fix. Any help is greatly appreciated. Cheers, Seano |
