Xserver password is linked to user password?

Hi

When reading this, please bear in mind that I don't know what I am doing

We have an xserve which has all our users listed in the workgroup manager and also runs our calendars through ical. I recently upgraded a user's mac to Leopard and it was one of the last machines to be upgraded. The problem is since doing this (and I don't know how this happened), whenever the user's password is changed it changes the xserver password (local administrator) and vice versa. The only way to get around this is to change the user's password, turn it off then change the xserver back. I'm not sure if this is due to how it was originally setup or something gone wrong in the upgrade.

I have tried deleting the user from the xserver and re-adding them, but I think this has caused other problems, i.e., the ical now doesn't work and I think it's because it is still trying to reference the user's ID that no longer exists (am getting errors in the logs like: [OpenDirectoryService] Unable to find any record with GUID...)?

I am stumped and our IT guy is not back until next week and I need to get this fixed.

Is anyone able to shed any light on this please? Xserver is running 10.5.6
