How Do I Prevent Safari from Opening on Startup?

I thought I had it nailed as the attached image shows, but still Safari opens when I start up my Mac.

How do I prevent Safari from opening at the start?

Thank you in advance.

The Hide checkbox only means the application will not be visible, not that it won't launch. To stop launching, select Safari in that list, then press the minus (-) button.

Bear in mind that apps in Lion and later will relaunch at startup, if they were active at shutdown. ("Resume" feature.)
