Hey everyone. So got a new computer and moved my home folder (10.8.2) from my boot drive to another internal volume. Everything went smoothly, except, whenever I open a new app, it opens as if it's the first time it's been opened, and the preferences aren't saving. For example, I open iTunes, I click through the license agreement, sync my phone, close the app, re-open, and I have to go through all of that again. Same thing with Aperture. I open the app, put in my serial number, and start working. When I re-open, I have to do it all again.
It would seem that the preferences or license file written to the library folder isn't sticking after the app closes. I've repaired permissions on the boot drive, and it's still happening. I've made sure that the permissions are set correctly in my ~/Users/me/Library folder. Don't know what else to do. Thanks for any help you can provide! Uli |

Why did you want Home on another volume?
Maybe a symbolic (hard) link would help ... |
