Alternative to Mail Scripts?

I just visited the site for Mail Scripts..seems the developer has thrown in the towel on further development because applescript is "broken" by something Apple has done..

At any rate, are there substitutes or alternatives? The script I'm most interested in is the one where you can type an email now, then schedule it to be sent at another day/time.

Any thoughts on how to regain that functionality?
