How to move items around in LaunchPad ?

I incidentally moved "System Preferences" inside an untitled folder in LaunchPad. In Applications folder, however, the item is outside of the folder ( i.e. there is no untitled folder). Can anyone show me how to move it out of the folder in LaunchPad ? I am running Mountain Lion 10.8.2 on a new iMac (Dec 2012). Thanks for your help in advance!

That "folder" in Launchpad, is not a real folder in the sense of a finder folder, but is an organizational device used only within Launchpad. Think of it as a collection of items.
If you want to move an item out of a Launchpad folder: Open Launchpad, click on that folder, then drag and drop the item (System Preferences, in this case) out of that folder. If there's just one more item, then the folder disappears, and the last item also is back on the Launchpad page.
