Persisten spotlight fly-outs Mt. Lion

Anyone have a fix for spotlight "fly out previews" which don't go away after you're done with spotlight?

I first noticed it in Lion; still here in Mt Lion 10.8.2.

Apple's top solution is to restart the Mac which seems kinda dumb and un-resourceful for the world's most powerful OS.

wouldn't this be some kind of dumb interface glitch?

thanks for any clues....guess I'm off to restarting now..

I use spotlight a lot, and I've never seen a fly out hang like that.
I wouldn't think that you need to restart - just log out.
A force-quit of the Finder should also do the trick.

I've also never seen that. If I were to guess, I'd wonder if maybe there's a problem with a third-party Quick Look plugin you've installed.
