iTunes will not quit coming up on its own...

I can not get iTunes to stop starting on its own. It just keeps starting and if I try to get rid of it I can not. ITunes is required to run Lion.

Can you help...?

Thanks,

Keith

You may be experiencing the situation when iTunes open as a web helper--now that Apple has taken away our ability to set web helpers. It may be opening for mp3s, movies etc. Two ways to solve: choose a media file on your machine of the type iTunes keeps opening for, Get Info on that file (Command-I) and choose Open With another player - MPlayer OSX Extended is a nice one - also choose Change All. Another solution is to download the preference pane RCDefaultApp from rubicode.com, which allows all the old settings per extension, per application, all of it.
