Inconsistent remembering of full screen state
It drives me nuts that so many apps don’t remember their previous full screen state. Apps from Apple seem to work just fine. Others, not so much.

Yes, you're right.
Some apps are not coded to use full-screen mode, as some Apple apps do (not all Apple apps support full-screen mode) Just looking at a couple of web browsers - Chrome returns to full-screen mode, if left that way. Firefox does not. Also, Apple's own Safari does not return to full-screen mode, either. There might be some third-party system utility that provides other results for a few specific apps. Full-screen mode is a system-wide feature, but, in the final analysis, depends on each app to be coded for full support of that mode. |

Not what I’m talking about. I am reference the array of apps that are indeed full-screen enable, complete with the expand widget in the upper right corner.

One app that, for me, does not remember the full screen state is MS Word 2011.
Even Word has the 'appearance' of being full-screen enabled, but does not keep that over a relaunch. I would ascribe that to Microsoft, eh? And, as I said, even Safari (for me) does not 'remember' that full-screen state. You may find that your system acts slightly different from mine. For example, does your Safari browser remember the full-screen mode in the way that you expect? I think my real question is: Do you think that remembering, or returning to the previous full-screen state, is an important element of deciding if an app is "properly" enabled for full-screen mode? |
