ML Sleep Issues

I have noticed on Macbook Pro, Retina, and Air all current running ML 10.8.2 that Sleep can be very problematic, with the computer not coming back to life properly from sleep. Being un-usable even after it is apparently awake again.

Rebooting of course works.

I have seen some threads elsewhere turning off Sleep on HD, not much value in that on the SSD based systems anyway.

I have not examined it enough but I suspect turning off sleep altogether works as a bandaid.

Any other thoughts or experiences with this feature set?
