Hi,
Ive just started to register a problem with the fan(s) on my 15" MBP. It seems to initiate @ CPU and a/b heatsink temps in the 70's...typically after a bout of streaming video ! (Silverlight) The fan speeds have been nosing over 6K rpms....! They seem noisy at +3K but sometimes they need to be nudging into 4K to hear them. The issue is new but actions/use of the macbook is as normal...hope that makes sense..? Should I try vacuum them ? Can the heat exchangers be recharged at all? Any advice or insight would be helpful....! Urm.... the unit was serviced and thoroughly bench tested in the last 18 months. It must be 4yrs old now . Grtzzz.....! Tim |

The fans do wear out.
I had one noisy fan on my early 2008 Mac Book Pro that evidenced the problem during the warranty period and got replaced by Apple.
