Mail Rules for the Sent Mailbox

How do I set up a rule that operates against all mailboxes.

My rules operate against the inbox but can not get the rule to operate on the sent mailbox. For example, in my rule I specify if the TO contain say BMW then I want the mail from the sent mailbox move to the BMW folder. It is not working. Ideas?

Thanks

Mail rules are designed to sort (or apply some action to) incoming mail, or messages in your inbox.
I don't think you can get Mail to apply rules to outgoing messages automatically, without using an add-on such as Mail Act-On.

However, do your sent messages move to the BMW folder, if you select those relevant sent messages, and click Apply Rules under the Messages menu?
