Text into a url in Mail

I'd like to add text "click here" to a URL for use in an e-mail. I remember adding text to a URL and removing a portion of the URL and when mailed just the text would show. I hope I make my question sense able and any help appreciated. I use an iMac.

There are different ways to do this, but here is one that works for me.

1. In the body of your email, type the message as you want it to be seen.
2. Highlight the word or words that you want to turn into a link.
3. Right click (or control click) on the highlighted phrase and select "Link > Add Link"
4. Copy the link from your web browser, and paste it into the box.
5. Click OK.

It's possible this may not work because you may not have the "Link > Add Link" option. It depends on what email program you are using and how old your version of OS X is.
