totally weird (found in logs)

I am running 10.4.11 on a macbook pro (2.16 ghz 2007) and as I'm waiting for an upgrade to now leopard, I was looking through the logs as I was informed here that I might find the cause of a recent problem, I found something very strange in the console log

https://www.dropbox.com/s/g3bms7mo5b...en-capture.png the first name there is a friends name who lives 2000 miles away, I cannot find his name written like that anywhere else on my machine, I bought it in another country, it is protected by a password which only I know, I am the only user, I have known him for about 25 years and he would have no reason to do something like this even if he was computer literate enough (which he isn't, when I see him, which is not very often as he is very ill at the moment, I sometimes have to sort some problem out for him on his machine which is , incidentally, similar to mine),my machine is often set to Italian, he doesn't speak Italian and I would be very surprised if he knew how to get it back to English even if he wanted to.

I am no expert but I am reasonably competent ,though I don't know how to do that, just as I don't know how to get rid of it!

I am totally perplexed what the hell is going on here? does anyone have even a vague idea what may have occurred here? and how I might get rid of it, or even what reason anyone might have for doing it in the first place??

Thanks for now
Giles

Is the rogue name "jimnaguibscomputer"?? And your usual user account is "gillessimmons"..? Or something else?

Firstly, it's weird to have the Safari app installed in the Desktop folder, rather than in /Applications. You might want to check that.

Next, check your computer's various names. Go to System Preferences > Sharing.
What is the computer name there? Is there an "Edit" button below? Press that, and see what the names are there.

Otherwise, go to System Prefs > Accounts to see if there's a user account in your friend's name.

Sorted the safari app, didn't see it there as I have web pages up most of the time but...

can't seem to get rid of the name and do I need to have those 2 boxes ticked?
God knows how it got there, maybe I tried to connect with his computer at some point and messed up and forgot!

Those ticked boxes mean that you are sharing your files and printer on your network. (Don't worry -- the default is to require a username and password for access, so it's not "wide open".)

You may have difficulty changing the name while Sharing is on, yes.
