Problem connecting to Snap Server via OS Lion

Hi All -

As per the internet, there appears to be a relatively well-documented problem connecting to Snap Servers with AFP in Lion. The error message is:

Quote: There was a problem connecting to the server "SERVER NAME". The version of the server you are trying to connect to is not supported. Please contact your system administrator to resolve the problem.

I've tried a few of the suggested "fixes" I found online but nothing has been successful yet. I am running 10.8.2 on a MacBook pro retina 2.7 GHz Intel Core I7 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3 (......ok, I admit it, I include the proc speed and memory to brag about my new toy )
