Graphic error in ISX 10.5

Hi, I am installing OSX 10.5 from an original DVD on a G5 2 gHz dual PPC. Installation terminates without problems. But system prefs open a white rectangle instead of a normal window. The corresponding menus actually work, but they are all white - no menu items are visible. I also cannot see pdf files. After installing all updates the errors persists. The first installation from the same DVD was perfect. The system works correctly, but I need to change some settings in the system. Thank you for your help ! Marc

Hi, I am using a Power PC 970 2,2, 2 CPU, L2 cache 512 kB, 8GB RAM, Bus 1 gHz.
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro. Thank You.
