Microsoft Sharepoint Browser Plugin 14.2.5
On my iMac Firefox this add on is installed. I assume it was installed when I installed Office. However, I have no idea why, what, how this add on works. Is it even necessary? How I delete uninstall it?
Can someone inform me about this addon? Thanks |

That's a plugin used to help you access shared documents or collaboration projects that are uploaded to a Microsoft Sharepoint server.
You can disable the plugin in Firefox/Tools/Add-ons menu. You'll also notice if you look at your plugins in Safari, that it exists in Safari, too. It's just a shared plug in. If you don't have any idea (or don't care ) what a share point server is - then you could just remove that plugin. It's in the /Library/Internet Plug-ins folder. That would keep it from being accessed by any browser.AFAIK, that shouldn't affect the rest of your Microsoft Office software, other than the Microsoft Document Connection (MDC) (part of Office 2011, I suppose). Sharepoint seems a major function of that MDC app. Again, if you don't use that, then I suppose that removing the sharepoint access files will likely be relatively painless. |
