Default mail client
How do you change the default mail client? Any time that I click a link to email someone a different browser opens. I tried changing the default email reader in the application Mail, but now when I click an email link in firefox an infinite number of tabs try to open. The only way to stop the madness is to force quit.
Why would anyone ever want the default option to be for a link to open a browser other than the browser that was used to click the link? |

When you click an email link, the default is for the linked email client to launch. You have to change the link for emails, which (again) does not default to webmail - you have to change that setting manually (somehow). The reverse is also true for clicking a weblink within an email, which should open that link in whatever the default browser is, (not necessarily your active web browser, either)
I think RCDefaultApp is still useful to set the changes that you want to make... http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/14618/rcdefaultapp |

There is (still) a preference for the default email client app in Mail's preferences.
A browser shouldn't open, unless you've somehow selected the web browser as your email client. |
