mailabuse.com

My IP address ended up on their blacklist. Can anyone suggest how and what I can do to prevent this in future?
Thanks!

Shut down your spam server? Looks like they finally caught up with your weekend job selling Thai "enhancement" herbs

If you run a mail server and you do not have reverse DNS setup in Public DNS it is pretty easy to get blacklisted.
This obviously works best if you have a static IP.

Thants a bit beyond me I am afraid agentx. I don't run a server from home, my email is via Readyhosting in the States. Mailabuse.com specified an IP address, so would that be mine here in Thailand, or that of Readyhosting?

Is your mail server address mail.yourdomain.com or something like mail.readyhost.com ?
But a support ticket may be needed. Often when a server gets blacklisted the ISP/Mail Service Provider has to pay these sudo organisations to be removed.

IMHO it is sort of a scam as many legitimate servers gets blacklisted too !

Mail.readyhosting.com, regardless of what your domain name actually is.

Ok, I'll slap in a ticket and see what happens. It is actually causing me business problems.

Ok so it an issue they have to sort out.

If you have another mail account such as gmail etc then you can change your SMTP server (outgoing mail server) and get on with your life ;-).

Yes setup a gmail account.
Add your extra email address to it and boom you now have another way to send.

I am pretty sure you have to add the address to Gmail to be allowed to use their SMTP. It is really to verify that you own address or want to use GMAIL as your primary mail supplier.
I may be wrong. So you can setup a gmail account then add a new smtp server to your mail client with your gmail address/password as authentication.

here are the details

Gmail SMTP server address: smtp.gmail.com
Gmail SMTP user name: Your full Gmail address (e.g. example@gmail.com)
Gmail SMTP password: Your Gmail password
Gmail SMTP port: 465
Gmail SMTP TLS/SSL required: yes
