PDF problem

If I click on a PDF file in a Google search I just get a blank screen. This problem appeared after I upgraded to OSx 10.6.8. Prior to this I had no problems with PDF files.

How about if you save the pdf locally, navigate to it with Finder and double click on it?

Assuming that this happens for all PDFs viewed in Safari, but that PDF display of files in Preview works fine:

Have you installed Adobe (Acrobat) Reader? This program installs a plug-in in /Library/Internet Plug-ins, which allows the program to "take over" PDF display in Safari.

However, many people find OS X's native PDF handling as good, if not better. If you have an old version of the plug-in, that may be causing problems with your new version of Safari.

You can just delete the plug-in from the above folder (it's called AdobePDFReader.plugin, or something similarly obvious).
